One of the more dynamic, fun-to-watch teams in NFL history were the early 2000 Minnesota Vikings, a team that boasted a superstar wide receiver in Randy Moss who put up multiple highlights a game, a future Hall-of-Famer in Cris Carter, an All-Pro running back in Robert Smith, and a strong-armed quarterback who could double as a defensive tackle in Daunte Culpepper. Their seemingly unstoppable offense was their one-way ticket to the Superbowl, until a shocking 41-0 shutout by the New York Giants in the NFC Championship Game derailed the Vikings’ hopes of hoisting a trophy as well as the following seasons. Culpepper was certainly a popular player around the league, throwing 33 TDs his rookie season and earning a trip to the Pro Bowl on three occasions.
This made-in-2002 PE was given to Culpepper, and like the player it was made for, the shoe was certainly one of the more peculiar items in its field. It features the same midsole construction as the Jordan Cover 3 (worn by teammate Randy Moss) but with a different upper, and features both Nike swoosh and Jordan Jumpman branding – something that stopped with the Air Jordan VII of 1992. Check out the extra shots of this rare Turf PE for Daunte Culpepper and see how much these gems sold for by checking out the auction from lacedheat on eBay.
