2011 is in full swing as Sneaker News provided the best coverage of all things sneakers during the past week. A great collection of Black History Month-inspired sneakers in the form of an Air Jordan III, Kobe VI, Zoom KD III, and other great models fell upon us in a gorgeous Black/Gold colorway. Although a Nike LeBron wasn’t included in that set, Sneaker News kept things relevant with yet another exclusive interview with Jason Petrie, the head designer of the LeBron 8 V2. The Black Mamba also made some noise, as we got a look at the Black History Month colorway of his Kobe VI as well as two Air Force 1s inspired by number 24. Looking at upcoming releases, Jordan Brand has some special models and colorways waiting for us, as we got a look at the JB Spring/Summer 2011 Lookbook. Nike SB is also on the offensive side of things with an sweet group of SB Dunk colorways.
2011 marks the Year of the Rabbit in the Chinese Zodiac, and Nike continued its annual tradition of Air Force 1s inspired by the Chinese legend, which was featured in the Nike Sportswear Spring/Summer 2011 Summit in China. Sneaker News also gave you a look at an upcoming Foamposite Pro release as well as a curious sample pair of Air Max Griffey low-tops. The Air Force 1 made even more noise this week with the debut of the Air Force 1 Duckboot – a hybrid combine Force and Duck. Reebok’s collaborations have been off the charts thanks to Packer Shoes, and the upcoming Reebok Court Victory Pump ‘Grand Slam’ Pack will have you defeated in straight sets. On another type of court, Gilbert Arenas, Mike Bibby, and the rest of the NBA showed off their sick kicks during this week’s NBA Games. Arenas and Bibby are certainly big-time sneakerheads, but perhaps not as big as Air Ruddy and the man behind ShoeZeum, as we got a look into their personal Air Jordan Collections. And finally, Sneaker News featured the Air Jordan X in the latest Michael Jordan Through The Years installment, detailing Jordan’s comeback and the profound impact it had on the Air Jordan Legacy.
