This February, Nike continued their tradition of issuing special sneakers in honor of Black History Month, 2011’s BHM models marked by a luxurious black/gold colorway.  The 2011 BHM releases sold quickly thanks in large part to their deluxe aesthetic, but did you know a select few pairs were even fancier?  Check out these special wooden box editions of the Air Jordan III, Converse Star Player, Nike Air Force 1 and Zoom Kobe VI.  They’re relatively simple when compared to the ZKVI ‘Snake Crate’ or some of the other special packaging we’ve seen in recent years but it seems a fitting match to the sneakers’ understated dignity.  Click through to see more and let us know if you would’ve shelled out the extra cash to cop these (or if you’ll be planning to keep an eye out in case they hit the ‘bay).  via Mayor
