They’ve been silent in terms of collaborations since last March’s teamup with Parra and Nike Sportswear resulted in 2010’s sneaker of the year, so you know when Patta comes through with word of their latest, the sneakerhead world will stop and take notice. The latest classic runner to feature the Dutch boutique’s logo is from Asics instead of Nike Sportswear, a return to the Japanese brand with whom they partnered for notable releases in 2007 and ’09. And just as those drops can be seen as significant to the return to prominence of both the Gel Lyte III and Gel Lytespeed, respectively, perhaps this new Patta x Asics Gel Saga II will prove to be the jumpstart this classic model needs to earn a little more time in the spotlight. Patta loves to use denim and corduroy and you can get a sense for what to expect from the colorway from this teaser image; any chance these will rank as highly as their excellent Air Max 1s?
