The Nike Zoom Rookie LWP had some big shoes to fill, following the immense success of the Air 1/2 Cent and the legendary yet short-lived Air Penny line. Nike designer Marc Dolce recently discussed the design inspiration and detailing behind the Zoom Rookie LWP, which launched the first release in the ‘Glow In The Dark’ colorway last week. Combining elements of the Air Penny line like Foamposite, a carbon-fiber shank plate, and inner bootie fit, the Zoom Rookie LWP is as much of a performance shoe as it is a Lifestyle sneaker, so it’s only a matter of time before we see these on the feet on an NBA player (Gilbert Arenas, perhaps?).
