February was one of the most exciting sneaker months of all-time, but now that March is here, it doesn’t look like things are slowing down. To close out Black History Month, Sneaker News showed you the Air Jordan V ‘Red Tails’ that was auctioned off at Nike Portland. A new Air Jordan XII colorway was released as well, as was the ‘Tinker Hatfield’ Dragon edition of the Air Jordan 2012. The debut of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Elite incited a generous amount of buzz, as the $200 fully-loaded Kobe VII shoe was revealed to have full-length Zoom, carbon fiber heel counters, and a snake-skin texture upper that reminded us of the Kobe VI. Nike iD designers are beginning to receive their Zoom KD IV iDs, and the three iDs spotted this week only raised the excitement around the KD IV and its iD capabilities. The Air Yeezy 2 continued to remain afloat as we got another look at the two upcoming Black/Pink and Zen Grey colorways.
The 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend wrapped up on Sunday night, and Sneaker News provided you some tight coverage of all the sick ‘Feet’ sightings, star-studded events, and mind-blowing sneakers. Other NBA sightings included the return of Jordan Brand athlete Bobby Simmons and Jeremy Lin rocking his Hyperdunk 2011 Low PEs that were originally intended for the Rising Stars Challenge. News of Lil’ Wayne’s signature sneaker sparked a lot of chatter, as did Penny Hardaway’s ‘Shooting Stars’ Foamposite PE. Other footwear headlines included the Kozik x SB Dunk High, some new Jeremy Scott releases, Burn Rubber’s next take on the MT580, Derrick Rose’s massive contract with adidas and the return of The Cage by Fila. Finally, the next Sneaker Con event has been confirmed for March 17th in Miami, so mark those calendars. We’ve got this week’s best sneaker headlines lined up for you, so take a look at this week’s Rewind and stick with Sneaker News for continuing coverage of MArch’s best sneakers!
