Clot Air Max 1 2006 Kiss Of Death

NIKE AIR MAX 1 WEEK PART 2

Continuing our second examination of the best Air Max 1s as part of our Classics Revisited feature is the 2006 release of the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Kiss of Death’. As one of CLOT’s earlier team-ups with Nike, this project was a visualization of ‘East meets West’, as this original ’87 Western-born design met with CLOT and MC Yan’s concept out in Hong Kong. A number of fine details, such as the use of suede, snakeskin, and ostrich skin, was paired with a tribute to a time-honored traditional of Chinese medicinal theory, as seen on the ‘pressure point’ map on the insoles. Using Nike’s latest ‘No Liner’ build of the Nike Air Max 1, CLOT design the shoe using earthy tones and struck a unique note with the transparent toe-box – only the third time a Nike shoe featured the see-through material (first on the ESPO x Air Force II and later in the Air Force 1 Low ‘Invisible Woman’). This May 2006 release was centered around a special CLOT-hosted invite-only party out in Hong Kong; some of the notable partners of that celebration was Nike, Moet Chandon, Motorola, and eBay.com.hk. More of the ‘Kiss of Death’ after the jump, so take a look and let us know where this Air Max 1 ranks for you in your personal list of all-time greats!
