We hope all of you were safe and sound during the crazy Black Friday shopping festivities, and if you were waiting on line for the hot new sneaker release (or a four-for-one sale on hand-towels at Bed Bath and Beyond), Sneaker News should’ve helped pass the time! Starting things off, we got a ton of release date updates from Jordan Brand, while Nike provided us with entertainment with the ‘Christmas’ Kobe 8. Nike SB enjoyed one of its best weeks ever with the CNCPTS release. Air Force 1 and New Balance news was rife with updates for later releases, while NBA Feet kept us busy keeping up with all the NBA players who have managed to keep themselves in the spotlight.
Custom sneakers were another popular category, as Mache Customs hit us with a trio of sick Black Friday specialties. while Puma impressed with the return of 24K Gold. Swizz Beatz stole the AMA spotlight with his Reebok Shaq Retros, while a couple of Converse partnerships with U.S. and Hong Kong shops were worth noting. Sneaker Con NYC was another major success with its biggest venue ever with thousands of patrons showing of the best in latest footwear, while Sneakerpedia allowed the Sneaker News team to look back at 25 years of gems.
