The nicknames we gave each other as kids spilled over into how we talk about sneaker colorways a long time ago, so even as this pair appears to whiff on the wintertime snowman connection, it would indeed be appropriate to call this Nike SB Koston 1 sample ‘Frosty’. That’s what Eric Koston’s friends often call him, and on this quite literally Brian Anderson-penned mockup, we flash back ot the good old days when notebooks, school desks and even sneakers (especially midsoles and simple canvases like the Chuck Taylor) served as a sketchpad for familiar icons. In this case, it’s a mashup of popular music acts mostly from the ’80s and ’90s, highlights including Tupac and BIG, a presumably ironic Ratt shoutout and a G.G. Allin tie-in adding some hardcore street cred to this faded pink ‘Girl Talk’ of a Koston 1.
