New Balance 574 Custom Foot Locker Sneaker News 1

Recently Foot Locker invited Sneaker News to test out the in-store New Balance 574 Custom kiosk located at the retail chain’s Times Square location. The kiosk, located right in the middle of the store, offers customers to explore the nearly-unlimited combinations of the iconic 574 with various colors and materials available for use. Each pair costs $140 and will ship for free from the U.S. factory in which the shoes are entirely manufactured, arriving at your door in 6-10 days – with shipping being free of charge.

Sneaker News was given the opportunity to design a pair, so we decided to take inspiration from a highly-anticipated New Balance release at the time – the “C-Note” colorway put together by Concepts. We took colors from the brand new $100 bill by using Glacier Blue as the base (mimicking the mint color of the currency), and detailed the remainder of the shoe with Burnt Orange, Chambray Blue, Houndawg Beige, and Pacific Green – a palette of colors nearly identical to the freshly designed bill. Of course, you can create your own works in-store at Foot Locker in Times Square or on the New Balance website, so check out our design up close and personal and get started with your own personal pairs!
