Can you believe that summer is almost over? We’ve only got one more month of this sort of perfect sneaker weather, and then it’s back to school time (for most of you). As we’re closing the books on another wild month in sneaker releases and headlines, we are again coming through with a highlight reel of sorts featuring the biggest stories that showed up across the past month. It’s been said plenty of times before that the pace for sneaker releases in the Summer is a tad slower, but there have nonetheless been some pretty noteworthy items showing up across the past 30 days.

If there’s one that outweighs the rest in terms of impact, it’s got to be LeBron James’ move back to Cleveland; it’s not the most sneaker centric of them but it’s difficult to really assess how big an impact that will have on his Nike line for the years to come. But what else happened? In the Big Three news as far as Nike Basketball is concerned, Kobe Bryant continued his prolific run by adding another shoe. Speaking of prolificacy, there are a ton of Asics collaborations on the way. Slam Dunk is a decades-old basketball-centric anime in which one of the lead characters is known to rock the Air Jordan 6 White/Infrared during his games. It appears that a tribute is in store for the fictional character, with pages of the comic imprinted on the upper.
