Yohji Yamamoto’s take on the adidas Originals LA Trainer hit all the right notes, but the name change was curious enough to add some confusion, considering the Los Angeles moniker was dropped and a reference to Tokyo. Names aside, the Y-3 rendition, known as the adidas Y-3 Tokio Trainer adds some premium leather and a mesh overlay by the three stripes in an interesting twist for Fall 2014, all while a simple suede hits the toebox.
