Winter used to be the dark ages for your sneaker collection if you lived in a northern climate. You’d pack up your rotation and opt for the perennial pair of Timbs and tough out a long winter. Then the Sneakerboot Boom happened. Nike started dressing up favorite silhouettes in durable, friendly aesthetics that you wouldn’t feel too bad about getting grey slush on thanks to bolstered materials. This year, the Nike Air Max 90 Sneakerboot is getting a spot at the head of the table, as Nike is pushing the silhouette with renditions like the AM90 Sneakerboot ICE and more. Here we see the shoe revert back to a simple yet timeless look in a “Blackout” colorway. The extended upper does have traces of Magnet Grey and laces so it isn’t monochromatic in its truest form, but it’s close enough.
