As one ages, one’s tastes usually evolves towards the finer things in life. Kobe Bryant’s affinity toward wine is an example of his refined hobbies, one that seamlessly translated into a recurring plotline with the Nike Kobe signature series. Today’s “Vino” introduction tells the story of the Black Mamba’s valuable time spent with his teammates over dinner and some white wine, and it’s this type of fellowship that allows Kobe to be better leader while giving the younger guys the guidance they need. The vibrant green upper is inspired by the color of the grape skins used to create the drink of the gods, bringing an unprecedented level of class to the gritty hardwood game. Let’s hope “Kobe the sommelier” evolves as the Kobe 10 eventually enters the next phase (particularly the Elite model that we tested out earlier this week during the Nike Basketball Zoom City Training Experience).
