Kanye West can write all the Nike-bashing tracks he wants, but the numbers are clear – not even a pole vault can help Yeezy jump over the Jumpman. In January alone, Jordan Brand has six Air Jordan Retro releases scheduled (one already dropped this past weekend), and that’s not including all the kids releases that double that number. So even though every single Yeezy causes mass hysteria and the re-sale prices rocket to the minimum $1,000, Jordan Retros keep appearing in front of the eyes of sneakerheads everywhere. Is the brand diluting the game? Maybe, but there’s at least one must-have Retro release per month and that alone will outnumber whatever Kanye and adidas sell in a calendar year. That said, mark your calendars for January 30th for the release of the Air Jordan 5 Low “Alternate”.
