NPD Group’s Matt Powell is a living sneaker OG. Step to him on Twitter and he’ll not only knock teenagers looking for a fight down a peg, but he brings industry-backed knowledge and insights with relative ease. It’s his job, after all. He just tweeted out 2016’s top 10 best selling shoes in the United States and the list goes as follows: the adidas Superstar leads the pack followed by the Air Jordan 12, the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Low, The Nike Roshe Run (it’s unknown if he means the Roshe 2, the original model, or a combination of both), the Nike Huarache, the Nike Revolution (also known as your aunt’s favorite walking shoe), The Nike Free Run, the Air Jordan 11, the Nike Air Force 1 Low, and the Nike Kyrie 2. What the list shows is that it’s by no means a sneakerhead’s top 10, but instead is filled with readily available, affordable models for the everyman. Are you surprised by any of the top 10? Check out the full list below and we’ll keep you updated if Mr. Powell lists just how much each model made in the near future. Stay tuned.
