Before Kobe Bryant was one of Nike’s most important and prolific signature athletes, a young Black Mamba signed with adidas fresh out of high school. One of his first models was the adidas Crazy 8 a bulky mid-90s classic featuring a chunky midsole and alternating stripes of white and black that adidas has brought back as a retro countless times without a Kobe related monicker given his contract with Nike. This is the first time we’re seeing the freshly minted Crazy 8 Primeknit though, as the classic Kobe silhouette gets a sleek and lightweight woven upper with a slimmed-down heel contrasting in soft suede. It’s a good look for the model, especially when paired with this standout Collegiate Burgundy colorway for a Lower Merion High School vibe. Check out more photos below and view the latest Nike KOBE AD NXT colorway coming next week.
