Nike Dresses The Air Max 98 In A Denim-Like Construction

Updated January 30th, 2018: The Air Max 98 “Thunder Blue” releases on February 1st in Europe.

One of the more underutilized silhouettes in Nike’s diverse arsenal is undoubtedly the Air Max 98. Much like the Air Max Plus, the 98 is celebrating an anniversary in 2018 which should lead to a dramatic uptick in releases. If that uptick continues to bring drops that are anything like this upcoming “Thunder Blue” offering, Air Max fans will have plenty to be excited about. Dressed in a denim-like thunder blue upper, with team red Nike branding, this selection comes equipped with some textured black patches that add a unique twist to this model. Another design feature of note are the haphazardly emblazoned miniature Swooshes that make their way underneath the prominent red Swoosh on the middle side panel as well as on the tongue unit.

With a busy schedule ahead, it is easy to wonder what special releases and projects will be in store for the 98 – maybe even a return of the illustrious Supreme collaboration from 2016. While it is always fun to speculate, you can keep your focus on this upcoming “Thunder Blue” selection for now. No official release date has surfaced just yet, but keep it locked to Sneaker News for updates and enjoy an official set of images below.
