For our purposes, however, there was a lone bright spot of the sneaker variety, with Anthony Edwards sporting a black and yellow colorway of the adidas AE2 that ranks among the best looks we’ve seen from the model so far.
Leaning fully into high-contrast, two-tone blocking, the sneaker features a black backdrop accented by yellow hits on the toe, outsole, branding, and the edges of the aggressive TPU frame. The color combo feels tailor-made for the silhouette itself, mirroring Edwards’ game with an eye-catching, almost electrifying edge while perfectly complementing the sculpted cage. The “Thunder and Lightning” nickname is unofficial, drawing inspiration from a limited Air Jordan 4 pack released back in 2006.
