BEAMS Japan Gives The ASICS GEL Mai A Forest Theme

BEAMS Japan Gives The ASICS GEL Mai A Forest Theme

The ASICS GEL Mai silhouette is no stranger to collaborations, as it has been done up in the past by mita sneakers, Bodega, Patta. Boasting unique color blocking capabilities, this lesser-used silhouette gives sneaker boutiques a lot to work with when drawing up their own custom design. Next up to join those ranks, is Japans’s own BEAMS, who adds a forest theme to the utility-engineered running retro. Equipped with brown, green, and tan, this offering gives off major forest vibes, and it also comes made with Gore-Tex technology, providing even more protection for the wearer’s foot.

BEAMS branding can be seen on its tongue underneath the asymmetrical lacing system, while ASICS signature stripes logo can be found on the stark white midsole. The silhouette’s customary ankle collar strap is coated in plastic to put the protective aesthetic of this sneaker over the top. Pairs will begin arriving at select ASICS retailers on March 10th and will be housed inside special edition Forest packaging.
