Nike is making it readily apparent that the Swoosh Brand has started thinking about women’s sneakers differently. Starting with the illustrious “Reimagined” collection that saw the Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 redesigned for women, by women, a shift in the industry has been taking place. A pair of the Air Force 1 Low “Jester” dressed entirely in “Violet Mist” is scheduled to hit shelves soon. The Jester takes some familiar elements from the iconic AF1 Low and haphazardly re-positions them on the upper, as the Swoosh is shifted toward the midsole on the lateral side and flipped at an angle on the medial side – leaving a dotted silhouette of where it usually rests in its place. It’s heel unit and Nike Air tag are also moved around, creating a whimsical aesthetic that should excite female consumers looking for something different.
In other female Nike news, the brand’s new women’s exclusive retail space – Unlaced – launched online in both the US and the UK yesterday – once again providing a unique sneaker experience for women , by women. At the moment, no release information for this Air Force 1 Low Jester is available, but stay tuned for updates.
