Sneaker News With the World Cup starting next week, the excitement surrounding the beautiful game—and its most prestigious tournament— is quickly reaching a fever pitch. Thankfully, Virgil Abloh and Nike are ready for the craze. The collaborative partners have created a “Football, Mon Amour” collection consisting of everything from track jackets to soccer shorts and socks to a limited-edition soccer ball, all releasing the day the World Cup starts. From a design standpoint, the collection features a mostly black and white aesthetic with accents arriving via bright pops of orange and the occasional blue “strike point” dot introduced on Virgil’s recent collaborative Zoom Fly Mercurial Flyknit sneakers. Varying bold typefaces, a lion crest, and a black-and-white checkerboard that adorn most of the pieces nod to classic soccer aesthetics. Enjoy official images and pricing info for the expansive collection below, and look for the OFF WHITE x Nike Soccer collection to release on Nike.com June 14th, the same day that the World Cup kicks off, with pieces retailing for $30-$500.
