Ross Dwyer Steph Curry is riding high. The superstar point guard’s Golden State Warriors just swept LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers for their 3rd NBA Championship in 4 seasons, and Chef Curry also set the record for most threes made in a Finals game, drilling nine triples in Game 2. As Curry’s legacy and his new Curry 5 shoe are now “verified” by the third championship, Under Armour is celebrating with an Oakland pop-up experience that will offer both art and cinematic VR experiences … but most importantly a bunch of new kicks, as Steph’s Curry 5s and Curry 4s will both be releasing in new colorways exclusive to the pop-up.
The Curry 5 will be available in a copper/black and a white/white. The former pair nods to his college habit of dropping a penny in a bucket every day before practice—an acknowledgement that one should always add value to their craft—while the latter’s simple and clean design nods to the transformative impact that Curry has had on the game of basketball. While the Curry 5s are more serious, the Curry 4s offer a more whimsical look. Chef Curry’s love for candy is well-known, and Under Armour is also drawing inspiration from the sharpshooter’s notorious sweet tooth with a pack of seven candy-colored Curry 4s/Curry 4 Lows, all with gold detailing. Arriving in five sweet colorways, there’s a flavor choice to satisfy the appetite of any fellow candy lover.
