In honor of this year’s MLS All-Star game in the league’s newest city, Atlanta, the Three Stripes has called upon local creators to help design a new Speedfactory AM4 silhouette. US Soccer star, Darlington Nagbe, as well as other local celebrities Travis Love and Rich The Kid offered their design expertise on this silhouette specifically designs with the ATL in mind. Combining technological innovation with a unique aesthetic, the design team created a shoe that carries the red and black color scheme of Atlanta United, while representing both the soccer and hip-hop cultures of the famed city. Heart is incorporated into this design by creating a graphic that resembles a pulse of the community, that spans both its vast hip-hop ties as well as a roaring crowd inside Mercedes Benz Stadium at an ATL United game. Another key element comes by way of an NFC chip placed inside the sneaker that connects to a Spotify playlist curated by up-and-coming hip-hop star Rich the Kid, meant to pay homage to the city’s deep roots within the hip-hop world.
Speed played a pivotal role in this sneaker’s creation, as the three creators all agree that it is fundamental in their own design process’, and adidas was also able to create the shoe 38 times faster than the industry standard. Those interested in adding the AM4MLS sneaker to their budding adidas collection will be able to purchase a pair exclusively from WISH Atlanta on July 28th, and then adidas.com the following day on the 29th.
