The Nike Air Max Deluxe “Pure Platinum” Is Dropping Next Weekend

The Nike Air Max Deluxe “Pure Platinum” Is Dropping Next Weekend

Since it first came to market in 1999, the Air Max Deluxe has been known for wild printed detailing and head-turning colorblocking. With an upper design that drew its inspiration from sound waves and a firm place in UK club/rave culture, the shoe presents what it represents: noise, fun, and energy. However, the Deluxe possesses a softer, simpler side as well. A straightforward “Pure Platinum” take on the classic runner has surfaced, and it trades all the high-volume detailing for a tonal-style look. Gone are the sound wave patterns on the upper, replaced by a textured white mesh. The upper’s plastic overlays trade out their usual colored detailing for a translucent look, and the midsole/Air Max 97-style cushioning unit opt for white foam and a crystalline construction that completes the blanched aesthetic. This toned-down Deluxe is set to release September 13th at EU retailers like Solebox for 180 € (roughly $208 USD), with a US release date likely to follow later this fall.
