For 2018’s “1 Reimagined” campaign, Jordan Brand and Nike remixed the timeless Air Jordan 1 and Air Force 1 in fresh new ways for the discerning modern female sneakerhead. Mixing in embellishments like straps, alternate branded hits, and deconstructed styles, the collections pushed the classic kicks in a bold new direction. Now another beloved sneaker is set to join the carefully constructed coterie of “Reimagined” contours: the Air Jordan 3, in a new “Explorer” makeup. Using a bold teal set against a simple grey base, the Explorer elevates and elongates the 3’s low-cut upper to unseen heights, turning it into a new-jack high top complete with a triangular tongue logo. A large grey buckle reaches across the throat for lockdown and technical style, while the aforementioned teal appears on the patent leather mudguard, midsole, eyelets, and translucent heel piece/outsole to add vibrant color. Only time will tell if Jordan Brand opts to give the AJ3 the extensive set of makeovers the AJ1 received last year, but grab a look at the first re-worked take on the 1988 legend below, and expect a release on Nike.com in the coming weeks.
