As an homage to the genesis of the Air Max 98 upon its initial retro release in the year 2000, the Swoosh is bringing back a time-tested gradient grey color scheme that initially became popular on its Air Max 95 predecessor. With its upper composed of two varying shades of grey, its mudguard equips a darker Atmosphere Grey variety and its upper begins to fade toward a more neutral Vast Grey shade. While the majority of this 98s aesthetic comes composed of those hues – much like the pairs from 2000 – it ushers in a quick flash of color inside its visible Air unit as well as its midfoot Swoosh and lacestays. Here, those embellishments come done up in a sleek Fresh Mint that offers up a nice reprise from the rest of this design’s mundane construction. Enjoy an official look at this brand new AM98 colorway below and look forward to its Nike.com release on May 9th.
