Nike Continues Its 270 Expansion With The Air Edge Model

Ever since the Swoosh introduced the world to its proprietary Air Max 270 cushioning in March of 2018, it has been taking Nike’s first lifestyle-engineered Air unit and placing it underneath uniquely-forged uppers in an effort to create intriguing new-look silhouettes. We have seen this by way of the ISPA Air Max 270, the Air Force 270 Utility, and more, but now Beaverton is adding another new model into the mix by way of the wildly-designed Air Edge 270. Ripe with design language that seems to be born from Charles Barkley’s signature line of basketball sneakers, the Air Edge equips a familiar speed lacing system as well as a premium combination of leather and mesh. Other key embellishments include a velcro straps in place of a traditional lacing system and bright orange tongue and heel straps on this Pure Platinum color scheme to help the wearer slip the sneaker right on.

Fusing old and new, the Air Edge 270 carries a clear nostalgic 1990s basketball aesthetic with the all-day Air unit of the wildly popular Air Max 270. With pairs currently available at select retailers, grab a detailed look ahead and stay tuned for a wider drop.
