Michael Le ASICS’ newest endeavors have focused on taking their many modern classics into the newest century, adding in tech-focused elements to their timeless constructions. Unveiled only a few weeks ago in its fully surrounding cushioning, the newest GEL-Kayano 5 360 is quite a bit more modern from the retro color blocking of its predecessor, donning its intricate panelling in a tonally white scheme. Every component, save for the subtle grey accents of its lace stay, are left barren of any tone, leaving tiger logos and embroidered iconography to blend into the smooth leather uppers. Outsoles, in their more aggressive modification, add ripple-like molds in complimenting fashion while the Japanese performance brand’s patented technology sits in its off-hued translucence.
