The Nike Air Max 97 Premium Features A Mix Of Compelling Textures

Nike’s ever-popular Air Max 97 first became legendary for its striking bullet-train inspired shape and sleek look, but now the Swoosh Brand is putting a compelling twist on the classic runner by adding a duo of new textures to its upper. Using an earthy mix of white, brown and tan tones accented by pops of bold crimson on the midfoot, tongue, and heel, this 97 dresses its mudguard in a unique cubed pattern and the two stripes directly above it in a scaly reptilian style print. The rest of the upper contributes to the textured look as well — albeit in a slightly less bold fashion — thanks to a classic rugged mesh and thin laces. A white midsole, stone Air Max unit, and tri-colored outsole then arrive on the bottom half to complete the look. Check out all the details on these premium 97s here, expect a drop this summer for $170 USD, and keep it locked to our Sneaker Release Dates page for info on a specific release date as it’s available.
