Ross Dwyer ASICS and Sneaker Freaker have a collaborative partnership that reaches all the way back to 2010, and now they’ve joined forces yet again for a new GEL-Lyte III titled the “Tiger Snake.” Inspired by the tiger snakes native to Sneaker Freaker’s home in Australia and ASICS’ origins as the Onitsuka Tiger company, the shoes offer a look that’s part highly venomous reptile, part majestic apex predator, and entirely unique. The upper is constructed of a beautiful light brown cowhide leather, and accented by pinkish-orange hits on the eyelets, mudugard, and medial side’s high-vis reflective overlays. An elegant black leather heel is accented by gold text, and the black midsole features a splatter print, contrasting with the outsole for a finishing touch of detail. The shoes also come packaged in a custom box, featuring an illustrated graphic that was printed with fluoro ink infused with real tiger snake venom for a fitting complement to the shoe’s lethal stylings. The “Tiger Snake” will be available exclusively from the Sneaker Freaker shop, and interested parties will need to register their email address to receive a purchase link when pairs are made available.
