The Air Jordan 1 Gets Equipped With React Cushioning

Jordan Brand has mainly used React foam on new silhouettes like the Proto React and Apex React as of late, but now they’re calling upon its services for a modern-day interpretation of one of their most classic sneakers, the Air Jordan 1. Although the aptly-titled Air Jordan 1 React takes its namesake’s overall upper shape and offers an inherently familiar white/black/red color scheme, it boasts a brand-new construction that’s unquestionably all its own. Both the raised rubber midfoot Swoosh and the thick rope laces are super-sized, while red pull tabs run the length of the throat and appear on the heel; the former featuring Jordan text branding while the latter is left unadorned. A small red Nike tag hangs off the medial side’s collar flap, and even the white base gets in on the action, combining a canvas midfoot/collar with a leather toebox and overlays. Down below, a thick white React foam midsole with a noodled traction pattern and a single line of stitching offers modern-day comfort. You can expect these React-equipped Air Jordans to arrive on Nike.com/other stockists July 1st for $170 USD, so check ’em out in detail below while you wait.
