With a new home in Brooklyn, a new superstar teammate in Kyrie Irving, and a new jersey number to boot, a fresh chapter of Kevin Durant‘s career has started, and his move East will be accompanied by a timely Nike KD 12 “Cement Grey” that matches the Nets’ uniforms. The KD 12 has been known to draw its inspirations from Durant’s favorite things about his childhood — ranging from music to movies and more — so it’s a very real possibility that this makeup is a homage to the legendary Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement.” The lightweight knit upper is dressed in a stark black, and then accented by a marbled cement grey print on both the lateral side Swoosh and the Flyknit tongue. Pops of bright red are visible on the tongue tag, lateral heel, and medial midfoot’s text branding, while down below a cement grey midsole is surrounded by a translucent overlay and outsole. A full-foot Zoom Air unit is then placed directly under the insole for responsive comfort and reactive support. No matter if this Nets-esque colorway is purely fortuitous or Nike knew something we didn’t when they were conceptualizing the KD 12, you can look for the “Cement Grey” to release on Nike.com and at select Swoosh Hoops stockists August 1st for $150 USD.
