Michael Le After linking up with New Balance over a year ago, nanamica has been relatively quiet in terms of their collaborations, only showing off a few takes on Doc Martens staples while focusing quite heavily on their nautical-infused mainline. Channeling some of this very energy, the Japanese technical imprint’s latest foray into the sneaker world tasks the Reebok Club C to do its best Alien Stomper impression. The signature lace shields of the latter are ripped off and translated near perfectly onto the unassuming trainer with the dark navy of the white colorway poised to evoke connection to the sea. Elsewhere, constructions are quite true to its base of choice with clean gum bottoms and smooth leather constructions shared by the black alternative. Though certainly not as apparent in its ocean-bound get-up, the darker offering also takes on the same cool tone while matching much more effortlessly with the corduroy-emblazoned tracksuit and cobranded tees.
