Elliot Santiago Gradually becoming one of adidas’ most consistent collaborators, professional skateboarder, rapper, and actor Na-Kel Smith is building up quite the resume when it comes to his Three Stripes’ joint projects. Having already worked on several silhouettes including the Matchcourt RX3, 3ST.001, and the Nizza, the multi-talented creative has now been given the opportunity to put his design touch on the classic Rivalry Hi OG. Smith reworks the retro basketball silhouette with features more aligned with a skateboarder’s needs by structuring the upper with a combo of suede and synthetic for reinforced durability, as well as die-cut insoles and a sticky rubber outsole that provides enhanced grip for all of your kick-push activities. In relation to color, a combination of yellow and green (a two-toned palette featured on his 2018 collabs) arrive solely on the upper with the former touching on the stripe branding and laces, and the latter infusing the ankle panels. In addition, the tongue insignias come packaged with a remixed version of its traditional basketball logo that now spells out “na-kel” in throwback font. Looking to pick up a pair?
