Slowly but surely, the upcoming initiatives from the New Balance brand have been starting to unfold with a few noteworthy releases. Just yesterday, KITH founder Ronnie Fieg teased via IG a possible 1700 collaboration arriving at the end of the month, and it looks as though it will also be accompanied by a full in-line collection dedicated to Black History Month. Included in the assortment are some of their classic styles including the 574, 850, and 997S, in addition to Kawhi Leonard’s signature basketball silhouette in the OMN1S. Each take is specially designed through somewhat of a patriotic lens (a possible nod to Leonard’s Clippers team colors), and allow their navy blues to serve as the foundation of its look, followed by pops of USA red lacing systems and metallic gold accents applied through speckled midsoles on the more lifestyle-focused options, and through a mid-foot band across the hoops-ready model that reads “Inspire” to speak to themes of the annual observance. Preview a first look at each pair here ahead, and find them dropping on NewBalance.com and select retailers on January 30th.
