Yet to see an official retail debut, the Nike Air Vapormax 360 is already slated to drop in several compelling outfits like the “History of Air”-inspired colorway dropping later this month. Although this red and white colorway is set to be followed by impressive neon green, teal, and black iterations, a recently surfaced cream and silver version is perhaps its most formidable counterpart. Pod-like Air units from the Vapormax line cushion the breathable uppers transplanted from 2006’s Air Max 360. Mudguards and adjacent overlays have a reflective, metallic finish that reveals a colorful spectrum when directly under light; tongue and heel tabs receive the same silver treatment. Undeniably futuristic for the ’00s, this hybrid model’s off-white uppers feature ridges from forefoot to heel, as well as cutouts at the midfoot, that create an avant-garde look worthy enough to have complemented its original innovative, visible-from-every-angle Air Max unit. Iridescent profile Swooshes add some flair to the muted tones and rounds out the modern design.
