The New Balance 990v5 Appears In Molten Lava

Love it or hate it, the 990v5 is the newest household classic from New Balance, eclipsing its past iterations in modernity. And though we may catch further glimpses of the v2 — whose interest skyrocketed post Aime Leon Dore — we’re long overdue for another batch of the model’s latest. Taken up with colorful hues as of late, the pair harks to the volcanic creations of the entire brand line-up’s most iconic, mixing in Molten Lava to the suede and mesh upper in close entirety. The suede is of the darkest, tinting just halfway between the TPU molds and the underlying mesh base, while midsoles are left a clean white; its ENCAP piece towards the heel then opts for a bright complement to the rest of the palette, while branding elsewhere — the “N” logo, the flags on the tongue, and even the print on the insole — leans closer to warm side of the tonal spectrum. Grab a detailed look at these right here and find them at newbalance.com now for a retail of $175 USD.

UPDATED (2/11/20): This red and white New Balance 990v5 is restocking at affiliate retailers on February 13th.
