Detailed Look At The adidas D Rose 1 Retro “Concrete”

Fans who have paid attention to the career of Derrick Rose will always be quick to tell you that the dynamic and energy he delivered to the Chicago Bulls during his early career was legendary. If it weren’t for him suffering a series of horrific knee injuries, one can argue that his MVP ballots and perhaps even championship rings could have piled up in numbers by now. And while it just wasn’t in the cards for the nifty point guard to achieve thus far in his career, it’s always an era to appreciate within the NBA’s history, so for All-Star weekend which happens to be held in his hometown of the Windy City, the Three Stripes is bringing back his signature adiZero D Rose 1 in a special new colorway.

Monochromatic in most of its nature, these hoops-ready kicks are dyed in soft grey suede which cover its base constructions and ankle wrap, with deviations subtly peaking through its pure white heel mold, and in louder fashion via its medial panel mosaic of rose graphics and accompanying hints of red that color up the second lace loops and lateral signature branding. Both tones work harmoniously to contribute to its “Concrete” moniker, which speaks to the fitting story of Rose’s capability to rise to the occasion from adversity. These will be dropping on February 15th on adidas.com for $140, so peep a closer look while you wait on their arrival.
