Basketball Leather Appears On This Air Jordan 1 Mid in Pink Tones

Whether it be alternating colored Swooshes, clover-shaped graphics for St. Patrick’s Day, or tones representative of Italian architecture, the elements that have been landing on the Air Jordan 1 Mid recently have been been quite refreshing. For its next offering, the lifestyle silhouette looks to switch things up with an indulgence in textural experimentation. The toe boxes have been swathed in a smooth suede, the mid-foot paneling and toe tips keep their traditional smooth leather constructions, and the rear paneling – possibly the most stand-out feature of this pair – gets upgraded with the scaly materials of basketball leather. In addition, the tongues have been reworked into a netted mesh, and the heel underlays, a smooth synthetic. Even though Valentine’s Day is over with, these AJ1s can’t seem to let go of the essence of the lovestruck holiday as softer hues of pink transition between its various materials, and lie close to cleaner notes of white touching on the Swooshes and midsoles. Expect these to be releasing in the coming weeks on Nike.com, and take a peek at more detailed photos here ahead.
