The New Balance 992 Gets Ready For Summer With Seersucker

Although New Balance has benefitted from the unshakeable “dad shoe” trend that has permeated virtual mood boards and Fashion Week street-style over the last three years, the Boston-based brand hasn’t rested on its Steve Jobs-approved, “Grey” laurels. Instead, the North American institution has cobbled together a slew of eye-catching options as collaborations and solo efforts (see: New Balance 327, R_C1300, respectively). Soon joining the latter is a New Balance 992 perfect for Summer.

Uppers on the upcoming 992 are clad in shades of blue, pink and teal, with the most latter hue taking over suede swaths affixed above midsoles. Mesh at the forefoot boasts a flamingo-like color that also animates profile “N” logos and tooling at the heel. Traditional seersucker peeks out at the collar and accompanied by “Cream”-colored accents. Underfoot, this “Made in US” option delivers the silhouette’s signature comfort and quality via ENCAP midsoles, ABZORB gel and Ndurance tread, all reveling in a Summer-ready palette.

Update 4/30: This colorway will release in women’s sizing.

Enjoy a closer look at this pair here below, and head over to NewBalance.com on May 1st to secure yours for $190 USD.
