Sneaker News When it comes to Nike and space-inspired motifs, the two are far from foreign to each other as they were peaked by the iconic “Galaxy” Foams from 2012, and even welcomed into the present day for the Swoosh’s latest “Planet of Hoops” capsule. And this Summer, Beaverton is tapping into their intergalactic mentality once more to deliver a brand new three-pronged Air Max collection. Fittingly entitled the “Supernova 2020” Pack, the assortment involves classic silhouettes such as the Air Max 90, Air Max Plus, as well as the modern Air Max 270 React.
The Air Max 90 adds to its anniversary arsenal by wrapping its next rendition’s base with multi-colored outer space wallpapers, paired up next to starry midsole molds and metallic silver Swooshes similar to that of astronaut suit accents. Moving over to the other retro member – the Air Max Plus – this variation treats its upper with graphics reflective of a milky way as a swirl of hazy lights form the backdrop to its multi-ribbed constructions. Potent red accents pop out through its Swooshes, tongues, and midfoot plate for some added flair. Lastly, the Air Max 270 React is arguably most reflective of its moniker as a myriad of Supernova hues band together to compose its vibrant midfoot/toe box underlays. And perhaps to echo its solar system personality, warm sun-like oranges are pasted along towards the forefoot, heels, and customary Air unit down below.
