For Upcoming Air Max 270 React “Cactus Trails”, Travis Scott And Nike Take It Back To The 1990s

Travis Scott, the unrivaled chief in the trifecta of music, fashion, and culture, brings his next project with Nike to light with a heavy dose of inspiration from the 1990s. The tried and true leader of collaborative projects in the sneaker space, Travis teams up with the Swoosh once again for the Air Max 270 React EN, adding a “Cactus Trails” motif via exterior accents akin to the ACG identity and an added Sulphur dye for that pre-yellowed vintage look. Polar fleece lining also nod to the hiking aspect of the concept.

To officially present his next collaboration, Travis Scott’s e-comm team pulled off a heist of nostalgic proportions, stealing us away from the quarantine and bringing us back to the 1990s with a website built from a 4th period computer science course in high-school, complete with call-to-actions from Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer. Travis even tapped the real Cactus Jack, the bare-knuckled brawling persona of wrestling legend Mick Foley. The e-site, which is designed to look like it was made by novice web-designers of the 90s, also features a wide range of mock Cactus Trails products such as a Cactus rug, pre-made fire in a box, and – our favorite – a Mick Foley in-home cut-out.

Furthermore, Nike tapped Brad Hall, the monotonous and monochromatic sneaker reviewer, to give the full Cactus Trails experience a go inside his home. Hall gained notoriety on YouTube for his satirical vantage point of sneaker reviews, but ironically has since partnered up with several brands.

The Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 270 React “Cactus Trails” officially releases on May 29th. The accompanying trail apparel, which include a t-shirt, hoodie, and sweatpants, also releases on May 29th. Enjoy a detailed look here, and stay tuned for the official store list. You can explore the full collection on cactustrailstradingco.com.
