After teaming up with Kyrie Irving in 2019 on the Kyrie 5, streetwear label ROKIT has transitioned their collaborative dealings in the new decade elsewhere under the Nike INC. umbrella for a partnership with Converse. First kicked off this past May with a project involving the Chuck 70 Hi, the relationship is expanding upon their creative catalog in the Summer season with a brand new take atop the Pro Leather Ox.
Given that ROKIT possesses a heartfelt affinity for the community of DTLA’s Flower District, the shoes serve as a love letter to its culture in which helped them form their own personal brand ethos and inspired them to express themselves creatively. In terms of its presentation, they veer towards a monotone motif, applying white leathers both in glossy and natural forms unified upon its upper. Attached to the side walls arrives ROKIT’s signature orange circle stamp — in larger fashion on the lateral and in miniature form on the medial — which provides the only evidence of color throughout its body. Moreover, the shoe strings have been beefed up to 15mm in width to usher in a hint of skateboarding DNA, insoles split between graphic treatments nodding to the “anatomy” LA, and the outsoles bring everything together through its translucent finish. Grab a detailed look here, and find these dropping alongside apparel pieces on Converse.com, the Greenhouse app, and select retailers on July 16th for $110.
