adidas is far from foreign when it comes to going out and mashing up two of their classic models into one. This year especially, in light of the adidas Superstar’s 50th anniversary, they’ve used the iconic shell-toed silhouette to be merge itself with the DNA of other Trefoil members such as the Forum and Rivalry Lo. And this fusion-driven mentality is set to continue this month, but in a way in which its design is plastered onto another in printed fashion as opposed to constructionally.
Much like the way Raf Simons added Torsion graphics to the Stan Smith last year, this forthcoming ZX8000 installment treats its upper with a vintage Superstar outfit. The classic combination of white uppers coupled with black stripes is brought to the table, with the addition of shell toed graphics that adorn the tips that have been dialed to an tan hue to communicate a worn-in look. Midsoles pile onto its vintage aesthetic by being wrapped with a mustard yellow coat. Scroll further down to peep more images, and find these dropping in European retailers on August 14th for $140, with an adidas.com release to likely follow shortly after.
In other news, a Brain Dead Reebok Pump Court collaboration is on the way.
