Earlier last year, Virgil Abloh quickly sent sneaker culture into a frenzy with his highly limited and exclusive Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 “MCA,” a colorway that currently sells for upwards of four figures on the resell market. And not too long thereafter, the designer was quick to tease a small glimpse of the pair’s sample variant just moments before his Paris Fashion Week runway show in 2020.
While distinct in its few tweaks, the offering still resembles what released in color as the same vibrant blue shade runs across much of the upper’s leather construction. Even the swoosh is treated with the same metallic silver finish, though the once orange hang tab and surrounding stitch are hued in black for further contrast. Elsewhere, a second set of laces are applied in a fashion similar to Abloh’s Dunk Lows and athletic ventures, the strings wrapping in a tone near identical to its backdrop. The heel counter then completes the paneling with white leather, while the tooling would be marked totally in black if not for the printed “AIR” along the side.
Grab one of the best looks yet at the MCA sample right here, and as they’ll likely never release, your best bet is the size 12 currently up on Stadium Goods.
In you’d like something a little more accessible, the Off-White Jordan 4 is releasing this weekend.
