Some of the finest collaborative releases this season can be traced back to Korea, the country’s retailers and brands setting forth pairs like the Kasina Dunk Lows, the upcoming PEACEMINUSONE Air Force 1, and now the latest New Balance project by thisisneverthat. And though the latter is relatively new to the Boston-based brand’s family of co-creators, they’re soon to craft what is (so far) one of best two colorways the revived 2002R silhouette has seen yet.
Straightforward, though marked with the Korean streetwear imprint’s namesake, the pairs lead with their shades of choice, both opting to make full usage of it across the majority of the upper’s construction. The first, whose aesthetic lies far more low profile even despite its louder bit of color, leans heavily on a dark grey as it dyes both the mesh and leather fabrications in said tone. Elsewhere, the sole is imbued with black to complement while the suede counter finishes with a muted blue. By comparison, the white colorway is leaps and bounds more simple, but despite this, it stands out thanks to its overt vintage inspiration. Soles are yellowed with a seemingly natural execution, the counter bears subtle references in metallic silver, and the rest of the design appears reminiscent of the older staples through a white and ecru arrangement.
Grab a detailed look at both options below and expect a release to arrive September 21st through thisisneverthat.com and possibly global retailers.
In other news, the Adsum Reebok Club C was recently confirmed for release.
