Nike Is Bringing Back The Air Max Plus II

Nike Is Bringing Back The Air Max Plus II

With the launch of the Air Max Plus and the innovative Tuned Air bag came a bastion of fans who have, to this day, remained fervent devotees to the shoe. The follow up that shoe was an incredibly hard task, and in 2000 the brand delivered the Air Max Plus II, an updated model that utilized the same Tn Air at the heel while introducing an exaggerated molded heel an aerodynamically driven upper design. It doesn’t need to be said that the Air Max Plus 2 didn’t quite live up to its predecessor, and for the most part, has gone on forgotten as Nike Shox dominated the headlines for the Swoosh in 2K and beyond.

These images from US_11 reveal that the Air Max Plus 2 is indeed headed for the retro treatment, with six different coloways – a mix of originals and updated palettes – expected when the shoe returns. It’ll join its successor, the Air Max Plus 3, on the store shelves soon, but hopefully it’ll strike a chord this time around if there are some collaborations or special editions in place. Check out the photos ahead and stay tuned for a release.

In other Nike Running Retro updates, the Air Max 96 II is set to return in 2021.
