Michael Le Since the start of the season, Pharrell and adidas have been busy spearheading the return of the NMD Hu, a silhouette that the entire collaboration was effectively predicated on years prior. We’ve seen a number of exclusives, variations on the embroidered text, and we’re soon to see the previously teased “Aqua” colorway release officially later this week.
Confirmed for launch by select retailers, the pair brings along subtle deviations to the formula, though it does so in a color blocking near identical to the Yellow scheme soon to release alongside. The titular blue is worked into the knit upper, its laces, the cages along the profile, and even the Boost below; the lining, however, departs quite overtly as it opts for a dark black that’s used as a subtle accent note elsewhere. For a characteristic finish, the upper then, in bold, oblique text, spells out “ULUNTU” atop the toe box, a Ndebele term that roughly translates to “Humanity.”
