ASICS has employed the assistance of numerous talents in the past few months, going as far to offer Kiko Kostadinov an intimate role in the Sportstyle line. And in parallel, it seems the Japanese footwear brand was also in talks with PLEASURES, the two creating a bond based solely around trail running and outdoor exploration. Their collaborative GEL-NANDI OG draws exactly from such a source, the offering posed as a sort of spiritual guide to “finding yourself.”
In terms of construction, the pair is robust as a trail sneaker should be. A durable nylon ripstop outfits the entirety of the base, poking out from underneath the black suede overlays in light, tan shade. Iridescent Tiger Stripes lay over top the profile, providing a hallucinatory effect in its shimmers of red, green, and blue, while its leather outline, laces, and branded embroidered contrast in a pale purple. What’s more, the typed PLEASURES logo marks forward in bold lettering and the lining adds a comforting, sleeping bag reminiscent quilting.
